2. Frequently asked questions

Why can't I see the other Wi-Fi networks around me?

iOS does not allow apps to list the nearby Wi-Fi networks in the air around you — that's an Apple platform restriction, not a limitation we can lift. NetOS instead shows the network you're currently connected to (its SSID and BSSID) and, more importantly, discovers all the devices on that network. Turn on Simulation Mode if you'd like to see the radar full of networks anyway.

A scan doesn't find any devices. What's wrong?

Almost always a permission or connection issue. Check that:

  • NetOS has Local Network and Location permission (iOS Settings › NetOS).
  • Your phone is on Wi-Fi, not cellular — there's no local network to scan over a mobile connection.
  • You're joined to the same network as the devices you expect to find.

If you just want to explore the app's features without a network handy, enable Simulation Mode in Settings.

The Bluetooth tab is empty.

Make sure Bluetooth is switched on in your device settings and that you granted NetOS Bluetooth permission. NetOS scans for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices that are actively advertising nearby; some devices only advertise while in pairing mode.

Is Simulation Mode using real data?

No. Simulation Mode fills the app with synthetic networks, devices and radar blips so you can explore every feature anywhere — on the go, on any device, or when you want to show a friend what NetOS does. Toggle it any time in Settings; it never touches your real network.

Where is my data stored? Can I remove it?

Everything NetOS logs — networks, devices, ports and requests — is stored locally on your device only. Nothing is uploaded to us. You can erase all of it at any time with Total Wipe in the app's Settings, and uninstalling the app removes its on-device database. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

Can I back up or move my data to another device?

Yes. NetOS has Export and Import in Settings: export your logged networks, devices and saved requests as a file you control, then import it on another device or keep it as a backup. Your data never leaves your control.

3. Your data & privacy

NetOS is built to be private by design: it's fully offline, has no user accounts, and bundles no analytics or advertising. Your scans stay on your phone. For exactly what the app processes and the few technical exceptions (such as app updates), read our full Privacy Policy.

4. Reporting bugs & feedback

Found a bug, or have an idea to make NetOS better? We'd genuinely like to hear it. Email support@coderilla.de with a short description of what happened, what you expected, and the steps to reproduce it. Including your device model, iOS version and app version helps us track it down faster.
